Last night in the tea party republican debate

When asked if a healthy, 30-year-old man who refuses to get health care goes through something tragic and all the sudden needs medical attention, Ron Paul responds with, “Well that’s the risk you take…That’s what freedom is about. We don’t have to take care of everyone.”

When Wolf followed up by asking if we, as a society, should now let this man die, before Paul could answer, the crowd emphatically shouted, “Yeah!”

That’s a low-point. We ought to be ashamed of this as a country but we are not and that is embarrassing and disheartening. And to everyone who took part in that cheering, both on stage and off, you are my countrymen and I love you, but for now, fuck all of you and fuck your mothers.
