The Apartment Down the Hall
It smells like weed. Like, all the time. And not like, maybe once a week, or at a specific time every night. Multiple times during the day. And you can smell it anywhere in the hall. It’s almost like they are using weed as a fabric softener. Or they are like, cooking with weed instead of extra virgin olive oil.
So tonight when I was taking Sage out, there were two cops waiting at their...

That Memo I Didn't Get
Re: Carl’s Morning Commute
Dear Everyone,
We are all going to convene at the gas station tomorrow morning. You know, the one across from Carl’s apartment. Make sure there are enough people getting gas that there are lines of cars forming. That is all.
Best,
The Management

Little Christmas Miracles
So you know how ugly sweaters are, like, a thing with people now?
Well since we have been married, (4 years), every year my wife has gotten me the ugliest ornament she can find and puts it in my stocking. We were putting away all of our Christmas stuff finally, because today is January 23 which is the official last day of Christmas, and I realized I hadn’t taken a picture of these...

The advice I like to give to young artists, or really anybody, is not to wait...

(via hydeordie)
This is why he is my all-time favorite artist. Well, that, and the work itself.
I was going to draw tonight
but I ended up just watching Modern Family.
Deal with it.

Introduction
A couple days ago a I wrote a lot about my digital setup. It went over well, and seemed to be useful for a whole set of folks. I’m thankful for that, but I felt compelled to take a bit of time to dictate a few of the reasons why I’ve pared down and simplified not just my setup, but my whole relationship to things. (Aside: This bit from George Carlin is required...

Can you see my belly?

Tumblr Tuesday
Even though I can only recommend one blog every Tuesday, I figured I would list a few to let people know of all the blogs I recommend. Plus, it’s called the comedy rule of threes, not the comedy rule of one.
1.) Recommend Pick: Sagetails Ok, ok. I know this is a blog about my dog by my dog, but I am just trying to help her out. She is new to Tumblr and besides, look at that face! How could...

About Subscriptions
Some people say print is dead. I say it’s not dead, it’s just that all the people who really suck at it can shift their ADHD towards trying to create apps that no one will download. The other day I got what was my last issue of a year subscription to Arkitip that my wife had gotten me for Christmas last year. What a treat it has been to get this publication.
I would highly, highly...

Sage Fact #1
sagetails:
If I see an empty chair,
I want to get into it.
Sometimes I think I am a human.
I just want to eat at the dinner table like everybody else!
Did you see what they were serving on those plates?
Way better than my boring food.
Plus,
if I do it just right,
I am pretty sure no one even notices.
Love,
Sage.

Money For Nothing, And The Design For Free
Ok, so I am sure it is no mystery now how I feel about doing design work for free, or even speculative work for that matter. This site/chart is fucking great. Thanks jess for sending. http://www.shouldiworkforfree.com/
There are not bees in my mouth.
sagetails:
“O, yeah? What are you gonna do?
Release the dogs?
Or the bees?
Or the dogs with bees in their mouth,
and when they bark,
they shoot bees at you?”
- Homer Simpson
Love,
Sage.

Here’s the thing, for me, about Sarah Palin.
I don’t understand why we should have to care about her. It annoys me that we have to care about her. Every time she opens her mouth, I feel like Charlie Brown listening to an adult going wah-wah-wah. She’s not a national candidate. She’s…
Yes, but also, YES.
I keep saying this to people. The woman quit politics. I...

Hello.
sagetails:
My name is Sage.
I am a Weimaraner with a long tail.
Once, I almost died.
But I didn’t.
That’s because someone cared enough to love me.
I am here to tell you about my world and the things I learn about it.
This is me.
I hope you will sit and stay.
Love,
Sage.
So my dog has apparently discovered tumblr. Ok, so maybe it’s my wife and her sister translating for her,...

mommytoaprincess asked: Love your work. That's the wonderful thing about art..no matter how many decades go by there will always be new original works and you'll never see them all in your lifetime, no matter how much time you dedicate to exploring. What's your favorite piece of work you've ever completed?

Trying Something New
And no, I am not referring to buttering my toast butter side down. That’s ridiculous.
I have added a new link on my tumblr here called “My Work.” I am contemplating utilizing my tumblr as my portfolio, as well as everything else. I understand this would seem like a bit much if I posted a lot of excess stuff, but I don’t think I do, at least not compared to some other...
allaninnman asked: Yeah, it's been years since I've touched a colored pencil! But I'm eager to get back into it. Is that primarily what you work in? I like the piece "Gentlemen!" very funny
